It is not common for one to read a review about a movie that was released almost five years ago, but this movie is worth it. You can take my word for it. "What The Bleep Do We Know?" is a combination of animation, narrative and documentary where revolutionary ideas are presented in unusual ways.
Produced and directed by William Arntz, Betsy Chasse and Mark Vicente, and starring Marlee Matlin, Elaine Hendrix, John Ross Bowie and Armin Shimerman, this documentary/drama deals with fundamental questions: "What is it? Where do we fit in? And why do we do what we do?" according to their official website.
The 2004 film made more than $12 million in the United States alone and although it was originally rejected by the major film festivals, it won all other festivals where it participated, according to their website.
In the movie, 14 scientists, physicians and spiritualists give the audience an introduction to the world of Quantum Physics and its explanation of the universe.
The combination of the different genres in the film gives it a feeling as if it were the behind the scenes of the narrated story, but in fact helps in a great degree to understand concepts that are revolutionary for viewers who are not involved in science.
"What the Bleep Do We Know?" is a bold movie that doesn't look for the lowest common denominator audience which most movies target, and as a result, according to its website, it was distributed to more than 30 countries and has been translated into 14 different languages. The film is available through Netflix and Blockbuster or for purchase at websites such as Amazon for $14.98 plus shipping costs.
